Petrus I, Bishop of Pachoras
X Century
Famous Nubian hierarch.
He was a miaphysite; his successor
John III probably was not. In fact, since the end of
Peter's episcopate is recorded as two years after
the beginning of John's, it is probable that the
two were not in communion and held rival sees.
Peter began the magnificent redecoration of the
Pachoras
cathedral which his dyophysite successors continued.
Under construction --- far from complete! Read with caution.
