Bishop John Gevargizov of Urmia and Salma


XIX/XX Centuries
Cleric of the Chalcedonian Assyrian Church. The portion of this church to which Bishop John belonged was part of ROCOR from 1921 on. Although bishop of Urmia in Persia, Bishop John was unable to occupy the see and instead lived in Baghdad. In extreme old age he immigrated to the United States.
