Sudanese kingdom converted to Miaphysite Christianity
by Longinus the Missionary
in the late VI Century. Soba,
the predecessor-city of Khartoum, was its capital.
Alodia was finally conquered by the Muslim Funj
people in 1508; the fall of Soba is usually considered
the end of the Christian era in
Nubia.
