The Second Person of the Holy Trinity, God the Son or Logos
See also Logos for discussion of that concept
in a broader philosophical sense.
- God the Father is not "alogos" ["wordless" or "irrational"]:
- The Word is not something external to the Father, like a human's word:
- No one knows the Father, save the Son,
nor the Son, save the Father:
- The Word is not without subsistence or easily dissipated, like a
human's word, but is a person to Whom the words "sent", "settled",
etc. are applied in scripture:
- The Word is neither wholly identical with the Father from Whom He
derives
His subsistence, nor utterly diverse from Him:
- The Son was not created, nor is He subsequent to the Father:
- The Son (together with the Father and the Spirit)
created the universe:
- The Son is sent by the Father:
