Tertullian

II/III Centuries
African theologian, first Orthodox, later Montanist. Despite his lapse into heresy, his early writings are valuable both as a picture of early Western Christianity and as (at least some of the time) edifying texts. READ WITH CAUTION: Most writings are from Orthodox period, but they do not have patristic authority.
