Silko, King of Nobadia
VI Century
King Silko of Nobadia
is thought, on the
basis of an apparently monotheistic inscription in
Greek, to have been the first Christian ruler of
Nubia. He was probably a Miaphysite,
as Nobadia was evangelised by
Julian, a missionary
dispatched by the Empress Theodora.
Under construction --- far from complete! Read with caution.
