Laonicus Chalcondylus

Also NICHOLAS
XV Century
Laonikos or Nikolaos Chal(co)condylas, to give two more of the many variants of the name, was apparently an imperial ambassador to the court of Murad II, and later wrote a history of the Ottomans including a remarkable account of the fall of Constantinople. He also mentions the historical Dracula, Vlad Tepes.
