Katherine Kurtz
XX/XXI Centuries
Extremely successful author of mass-market
science-fiction and fantasy novels, nearly all
of which relate in some way or other to pre-Reformation
Christianity. Ms. Kurtz considers herself Orthodox,
and is the married abbess of a (doubtfully canonical)
Celtic Rite group in
Ireland. While her theology seems to me unduly influenced
by Rudolf Steiner's, she unabashedly
advocates Christianity in circles where
neo-paganism and hostility to the Church are widespread,
and her books have apparently been the starting point
of a journey toward Christ for a number of her readers.
