Euphratas the Eunuch
III/IV Centuries
A character in many of the vitæ of
Sts. Constantine and Helen but not well-attested in contemporary
records. A Christian, he is supposed to have played a key role in the
Emperor's understanding of the vision at the Milvian Bridge. He
is also credited with tremendous engineering feats in the
building of Constantinople, and in particular of its subterranean
tunnel and sewer system.
Under construction --- far from complete! Read with caution.
