St. Eochod
VI Century
Honored in Galloway as the apostle to the Scots and Picts of that region,
Eochod (Euchadius) was among the twelve companions who traveled from
Ireland to Scotland with St. Columba. Little is known of Eochod, but he
is thought to have been chosen to preach in northern England and Galloway.
The claim that he wrote the Acts of St. Columba is now dismissed.
