Bogomoljac ("God-Prayers") Movement
Popular revival movement within the
Serbian Orthodox Church which began in the late XIX
Century. It resembled the Greek
Zoë Brotherhood and the Romanian
Lord's Army, and like them has been accused of pietistic tendencies; nevertheless,
it seems to have had the support of some of the leading figures
in XX Century Serbian Orthodoxy, including
St. Nikolai of Zica and
St. Justin Popovic. The traditions of the Movement are today
carried on by a number of organisations, including the
Pravoslavna Narodna Hrishcanska Zajednitsa (PNHZ or Congregation
of Orthodox Christian Peoples).
